Located on Wisconsin Avenue NW in Georgetown, they have been a staple in
DC for over 40 years. Founded by JoAnna Filomena, they offer generous
portions of Italian favorites and the decor is over the top and a must see for every
Holiday, especially Christmas.
This is the first place my Aunt Nancy took me for lunch back in 2015 when I
visited DC for my interview with Fox 5 - she announced it to everyone there, and
they wished me luck and they’ve been family ever since. That’s the thing about
Filomena- they make everyone feel like a member of the family. Now I’m passing
the tradition to my niece, Evelyn. She says “best meatballs ever, Auntie!” You will
leave with leftovers and new friends.
So come hungry and save room for dessert and the classic Sambucco and
Amoretto.
