Top 5 Girl Trip Tips!

Since this is the year all of my grade school friends turn 40 (me included) - we

planned a girls trip to Montego Bay in Jamaica for a nice little getaway. I almost

didn’t go because of my work schedule, but last weekend my friend Janine called

and convinced me not to miss out - so we booked it! Last-minute adventures can

be stressful but almost always end up being the best ones! We all shared so

many laughs - I’m so thankful I didn’t miss out. Here are my top 5 tips to make

things easy:

  1. Use a travel agent if you’re planning an all-inclusive vacation. They can help you coordinate transfers to and from the airport, offer trip insurance if you need it and keep you updated on any flight changes. My friends selected Jillian DeRisi and she was able to find us a great last-minute deal to join our friends - made life easy!

  2. If you’re booking your own flight and you’re planning the trip a few months out, set a flight alert on Google flights and check the site kayak to compare for the best deals.

  3. Pack light! Some of my girlfriends checked huge suitcases, but I always take just a carry-on and personal item only. It helps to keep you moving especially if you have a layover. Use packing cubes and roll your clothes to save space. Pick out your outfits ahead of time and select clothes that are easy to mix and match.

  4. Remember to take photos! It can be easy to forget when you’re with a big group, but they will be memories you will cherish for years to come.

  5. Book a spa day if you can. There is nothing better than relaxing with your girls. I got an incredible massage and loved the hydrotherapy section at the spa at Secrets St James. Make sure you book your treatment right when you arrive. We opted for 6pm appointments so we could enjoy the beach all day and then still have time to get ready for a late dinner after.

Traveling doesn’t have to be stressful, and the experiences can be cherished for

a lifetime - group trips with good friends can be very special. Make things easy

on yourself so that you can be present and enjoy your time away!
